How to Reach Us — Travel Information
Thanks to its excellent geographical position and its direct air, road, and rail links with Europe and the rest of Italy, Rome is easy to reach quickly and efficiently.
International Airports
The city is served by two international airports, both well connected to the city centre:
- Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino (FCO)
- G.B. Pastine – Ciampino (CIA)
Major airlines, including low-cost carriers, operate from both hubs.
Leonardo da Vinci Airport is located about 35 km from the city centre and is directly connected to Termini Station by the “Leonardo Express” train.
From and to Fiumicino
Leonardo Express
At the airport railway station, the Leonardo Express offers a direct 32-minute ride to Termini Station, running every 30 minutes (every 15 minutes at peak times). Tickets are available on the Trenitalia website, ticket offices, vending machines, travel agents, and authorized vendors.
- FL1 regional train: runs from Fiumicino to Tiburtina (48 minutes), departing every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends and holidays. Stops include Parco Leonardo, Fiera di Roma, Ponte Galeria, Muratella, Magliana, Villa Bonelli, Trastevere, Ostiense (connection to Metro Line B), and Tuscolana.
- By Bus: several bus lines serve Termini and other key stations (Cotral, Atral, Gaspari, Terravision, SIT, TAM).
- By Taxi: taxis are available outside both domestic and international arrivals.
From and to Ciampino
From the airport, shuttle buses connect to Ciampino Railway Station. Trains run every 15 minutes and take about 10 minutes to reach Termini (Metro lines A & B). Buses also connect directly to Termini.
- By Bus: ATAC, Atral, Gaspari, SIT, Terravision.
- By Taxi: taxi rank is just outside the terminal.

Railway Lines
Rome is connected by a high-speed railway network linking it with the rest of Italy and Europe. This offers the greatest efficiency and affordability.
The main railway station, TERMINI, is in the heart of the historic centre and close to many hotels.
Other important railway stations include Tiburtina, Ostiense, and Trastevere.
From Termini Station:
- Take Metro Line B (blue line) in the direction Laurentina.
- Get off at either Marconi or Basilica San Paolo stations.
- From either of those stations, walk or take a short bus ride to reach Via Vito Volterra 62 (approximately 10 min. walking or bus connection depending on your stop).
Metro Line B typically operates from about 5:30 until 23:30, extended to about 1:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.
If you arrive by train at Trastevere or Ostiense
From Trastevere Station:
- Walk toward the bus stop named Orti Di Cesare (FL1).
- Take the bus 170, direction Agricoltura.
- Stop at Marconi/Bortolotti
From Ostiense Station:
- At Ostiense, walk or transfer to Piramide Metro Station (Line B connection).
- From Piramide, take Metro Line B towards Laurentina.
- Get off at Marconi or Basilica San Paolo.
- From your metro stop, walk or take a short bus to reach Via Vito Volterra 62.
Practical Tips
- Always check that your Metro Line B train is heading toward Laurentina
- During rush hours (07:30–09:00 and 18:00–20:00), allow extra time for possible crowding.
- Use apps (ATAC, Moovit, Google Maps) to monitor real-time metro and transfer updates.
